I’ve been experimenting a lot with clay in all forms and methods lately. One technique that I find very interesting and easy to do when you don’t have an atelier is the pinch bowl technique.
It is one of the oldest technique humankind uses for clay moulding. The pressions your fingers put into the clay get printed in the material, giving a result that is very dynamic and humble. I find that the use of colors on the surface can highlight this texture and result in a warm object that keeps the traces left by the person who sculpted it. For me it is like a piece of history in a bowl.
